1. What is Wapapi?
--------------------

Wapapi is a development tool that lets your Delphi or PowerBuilder
programs become Web Servers. By using Wapapi, you can create a
dynamic web site, create dynamic web pages, and leverage your
other development tools by allowing web access.

All this without the hassles of CGI programming, with a result
that is faster and more streamlined than CGI.

This is a 32 bit Windows application for Win95 or Win NT that
requires that you have a web browser such as Netscape Navigator
  or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The philosophy behind Wapapi was to make an extremely easy to use
product that would not take a long time to learn. We think that you
will find it easy to plug Wapapi into your applications, and you
won't have to worry about the low-level interface stuff.

For latest updates and more example applications, see the web site:

       http://www.wapapi.com

2. New in this release
-----------------------

   * Full HTML form support (GET and POST)
   * Easy function calls for getting form data
   * Multi-threaded web page delivery for industrial-strength performance
   * Site usage logging. Track usage by day/time, by user groups, and
      by web page.

3. Installation
----------------

Wapapi is distributed in a ZIP file. Unzip this file onto your
  hard drive:

  PKUNZIP Wapapi.ZIP

This program does not modify your registry or make any footprint
on your system outside of the directory you unzip it to.

Now just run the WapServe.EXE program. Then bring up your web
browser and point it to: HTTP://Localhost

The WapServe program is an example (Delphi source code included
in the Zip file) of what it takes to use Wapapi, and is itself
  a functional web server.

(If you ever need to 'Un-install', just delete the directory that
   you unzipped Wapapi into.)

4. Documentation
------------------

API Documentation is included as a web page that can be brought
up using the example program WapServe.

Complete documentation is available with the registered version.

6. Why Register?
----------------

This version of Wapapi is fully functional, but for evaluation
use only. If you find yourself using Wapapi, or especially
using Wapapi in a production environment, please do the right
  thing and register.

  Registration entitles you to:

  * Six months of free upgrades (major version releases included)
  * Full documentation (wouldn't you like to know what those
     error codes really mean?)
  * You will feel better. (maybe) Actually, we really believe this is true.
  * You can contact us for any support questions you might have. The best
way is to send Email to the address below.

So how do you get a registered version? Simple:

  METHOD 1:
Send $185.00 plus $5.00 shipping and handling ($5 also for international
shipping and handling) along with name and mailing address to:

     Michael Gardner
     1231 Redwood Ct.
     Anchorage AK 99508

(I also accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express; please
include card number and expiration date if ordering with your
     credit card)
((From Europe I am sorry to say I can not cash Eurocheques, as banks
here want to charge me $35 for handling.))

  METHOD 2:
Email. This is my favorite method of registration. By this method we
will simply email you the latest registered version. This has a couple
of advantages. First there is no shipping and handling cost. The entire
cost to you is $185. Second, we are assured that you have received the
product. (We are always concerned about the postal mail. You send a
check, we send a disk, we cash the check, you don't receive the disk.
     Yuck!)

To initiate this method all you need to do is send an Email message
with the registration form attached to: mikeg@alaska.net

  METHOD 3:
Call Brown Bear Software at 907-278-1231 (This is in Alaska)

We make every effort to get all orders shipped as quickly as possible. Oh!
and we would like to hear any comments and suggestions that you might have.

  Thanks!
